I am submitting PIQs as an artifact for Humanities. The objectives I completed are discussing intellectual habits necessary for success in college and writing in response to an audience, occasion, and intention. I practiced the first objective by deciding what to do after high school. I practiced the second objective by writing my responses.
The assignment to answer the PIQs required each response to a maximum of 350 words. On my first attempt, I didn’t try because I didn’t realize that I had to submit my answers with my college application. It was given a low grade. I wanted to rewrite it to get a better grade and because my responses weren’t going to get me into college. Days later, my teacher mentioned a college essay workshop. I was hesitant but I wanted help improving my responses. I got paired with is a mentor and the goal was to finish in four meetings. In the first meeting, we chose the questions I wanted to respond to and brainstormed. Between meetings, I rewrote my answers, and in the second meeting, we edited the rough draft. The third meeting was about making big edits. The last meeting was polishing the responses. This process took two weeks and helped get rid of the stress of
